Kyrgyz government promises not to steal money to fight COVID-19
The money that the Kyrgyz government receives from other countries and international donors to combat coronavirus will be used for its intended purpose. This was announced at a press conference by Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov. According to him, the Kyrgyz authorities have already raised about $645 million (45 billion 434 million rubles) to counter coronavirus infection, of which financial assistance is $627.3 million (44 billion 188 million rubles), and humanitarian assistance is $17.7 million (1 billion 247 million rubles). To date, $291.9 million (20 billion 562 million rubles) has been received from these funds to support the budget, a senior official said. Boronov also noted that $206.2 million (14 billion 525 million rubles) is being raised for the implementation of investment projects, which are planned to be used to support the areas of health care, social protection and economic recovery after the crisis provoked by the pandemic. Summing up, the head of government promised that for every penny received for this purpose, the government will provide a report. And he added that the fiscal and law enforcement agencies of the republic will take control of this issue.
