Ministry of Health of Tajikistan denied reports of coronavirus in the country

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan denied rumors that a 60-year-old man died of coronavirus in Jabbar-Rasulovsky district of Sogd region, the press service of the department reports. According to the Ministry, the man died due to inflammation of the lungs. Before his death, a coronavirus test was taken from the patient, but it was negative. According to Deputy Health Department of Sogd Region Maruf Khojiboyev, 13 people were placed in the quarantine zone of the region: 11 medical workers and two relatives of the deceased patient. He stated that coronavirus tests had been taken from all those quarantined. They showed a negative result, their state of health is stable and does not cause concern. But all hospitalized will be under the supervision of doctors for 14 days. And the hospital is closed for quarantine. Khojiboyev also stated that 18 infectious departments of hospitals have been prepared in northern Tajikistan in case of coronavirus infection. At the same time, he stressed that to date no cases of infection have been detected in the region. According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan, the laboratories of the country possess more than 25 thousand tests for coronavirus. At the same time, as of today, April 6, about 3 thousand tests with negative results were made in the country, of which 22 analyses were sent to London and 9 to Moscow to check the accuracy. Results came negative. From 1 February to 6 April 2020, about 7,041 people from abroad were quarantined in Tajikistan. Currently, only 2,750 people are in the quarantine zones of the country. At this difficult time, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan calls on all citizens of the country not to believe false rumors about the spread of coronavirus, the press service of the Ministry reads.
